4th Of July

Spent the evening with my Aunt and Uncle. Nothing like a little barbecue and fireworks to set the stage for a great evening celebrating our nations birthday. We drove up the hill last night and watched the fireworks in the valley below. From our view point the black tail mountain range provided the perfect back drop to the exploding fireworks that seemed to go on for hours. We witnessed a mortar fall over and shoot horizontally across the valley floor. It was really cool because when the mortars would explode and the valley floor would light up as if lightening was striking. I hope no one got hurt during this misfortune. I'm sure they didn't get the show we got nestled on a mountain side where as they were on ground level and probably freaking out about the neighbors being in the midst of mortar fire.

Overall the night was good but today is going to be rough! 3 hours of sleep just doesn't cut it when you have a full day of work ahead of you!
