Sk8 Night.....

I filled in for Erin and gave the message tonight at the skate ministry. I almost didn't because of fear of speaking to over 50 people. I gave my testimony about how God worked in my life and how he got me through some tough times in my child hood up until the present day. I am so glad I stepped up and gave the message. I had to fight back tears a couple of times but I made it through it with the help of God. When I asked if there was anyone who wanted to except Christ. To my shock I was surrounded by a ton of kids. I felt like I was in a football huddle!

It was AWESOME and I am so glad that God gave me the words to speak in order to get to those kids. I can't wait till we start our Skate night next week. I am so stoked to be bringing the word to kids who need to hear it! God is awesome!!!!

Here are a couple of videos I took of Trevor and Jacob pulling off some cool stunts. I had one of Ashley but my phone didn't save it for some reason so I promise to post one of her here soon!

Church Movie Night!

This message was sent using the Picture and Video Messaging service from Verizon Wireless!

I had to snap a quick pic of our Church tonight while leaving. You wondering why I call a movie theater church? The reason being is that it is our church and for movie nights they have been playing the original Star Wars movies. We watched Empire Strikes back this month and last month Greg Laurie spoke and we go were able to watch the documentary on his life called Lost Boy. I have to admit it is strange to have a church in a movie theater but the messages spoken there are awesome! It also draws the younger crowds who may not go to church to hear the word of God. So it is a pretty cool deal we have there at Fresh Life.

We had fun tonight and it was really cool to see The Empire Strikes Back on the big screen again. Tomorrow night I will be speaking at Skate Ministry in front of a bunch of people. They asked me to present my testimony to the kids. I am excited about it and can't wait! It is always cool to share what God has done in your life and how he has changed it. I hope maybe some of those who hear it will be inspired to ask Jesus Christ as their savior.

Summer Is Over : (

The cool nights and mornings are here again. This summer has been too short it seems only July was warm and hot and August was only hot for the first week. I am feeling tired from the cooler weather. It makes me just want to stay home curl up with a nice warm blanket and sleep all day. I am not looking forward to the coming winter. I get cabin fever too easily. However with the skate ministry I should be able to keep pretty busy and beable to maintain sanity. I hope the snow holds off till later in the fall.

Serious JuJu Eastide Skate Ministry Coming Soon!

The kids have been very interested in skate boarding since they attended the local skate ministry known as the Serious JuJu skate ministry. They love it with a passion and Trevor asked if we could put some Skate ramps in our garage. I thought it would be awesome to do that for him so I figured I’d ask JD one of the founders of Serious JuJu how much it would cost to get some ramps built for our garage. Little did I know he was praying about opening another skate ministry in the area that we live in.

So instantly he wondered if we’d be interested in starting a skate ministry at our home. I told him I would have to talk it over with my wife and pray about it. While talking to him about it, I realized we were in a perfect location for a skate ministry. We have a two car garage that we don’t use for anything other then excess storage (That contains 2 extra couches we never had a use for until now). Also we live across from a school where the street is fenced and closed for a whole block to traffic. That makes the street perfect for skating safely without the worry of the kids being run over or hit by vehicles.

After church I brought it up to Stacey. We were talking about how we had the option of beginning a skate ministry and how we wanted to make sure it was in Gods plan to do so. While talking about it the kids heard and started gathering kids to start the skate ministry without our knowledge. While discussing if we should do it or not. We heard the lawn mower start. I was thinking that is odd? Who started the lawn mower? We looked out the window to see a group of kids clearing weeds and mowing long grass away from our garage. I am embarrassed to say we neglected our back yard over the summer and our garage was camouflaged behind very tall weeds. It was barely recognizable to the human eye.

A couple of them started on the outside while the others went to work on the inside. I looked at my wife and said, well honey it looks like we have our answer. We went to bed that night and prayed hard about it and asked God to let us be sure this is what he wanted us to do. Tossing and turning all night I thought about how cool it would be to be able to preach the gospel to the kids and give them a positive place to come when they needed it. A place where they could come and feel safe and have fun.

Today at work I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I was totally excited and couldn’t wait to get it rolling. When I got home I mentioned nothing to Stacey about it. I wanted to see how she felt without influencing her decision by showing her my excitement about it. We did the normal hugs and kisses and the how was your day thing as usual. Then she told me one of Trevor’s friends burrowed his bike from the garage and she had to talk to him about not taking our things without asking. She also stated to me that we needed to get a lock for the garage especially since we are going to have skate ramps and equipment out there.

So needless to say she was just as excited to get started as I was and still am! I called JD and let him know that we were in. He told me he was totally stoked when he originally talked to me about it and I showed interest. He said he was extremely stoked now that we decided to commit to it. So we will officially be opening up the Serious JuJu Eastside skate ministry in a few weeks! We already have a bunch of kids who want to be a part of it. I am extremely excited and can’t wait to see what the Lord does with all of this.

This is the cleaning crew. They all pitched in to help clean our Garage today! They even volunteered to mow the grass to my shock and awe! All we need to do now is make a trip to the dump somehow to get rid of a truck load of garbage and it will be all nice and clean!

Psalms 22 Report Status

I realized that all the pages I have written and would write on Psalms 22 would be too long and people would loose interest trying to read it. I want it to keep peoples attention, especially those who don't like to read. So I've decided to make a video presentation of it. This will take more time and won't go in as much depth as the actual reading of it. I am going to hit upon the key points in order to show persuasive evidence to those who think the bible is just a bunch of interpretations that mean nothing and hold no real holy meaning. I know after seeing the key points they will change their mind if they look at it in a logical frame of mind. I am working on it and will have it posted as soon as I can.

Star Wars The Force Unleashed!

I just got done playing the game demo for Star Wars Unleashed on the Xbox 360! All I can say is WOW! There is nothing like using the force to lift a Storm Trooper off the deck and flinging him to his death. You can munipulate your surroundings using the force as well as blast through doors and use the awesome electric shock that killed Vader in Return Of The Jedi.

What a cool game! I think I may have to buy it when it comes out. Here is a game trailer with actual game play footage. All the fighting scenes in this trailer are actual game play. If you love Star Wars be prepared to be amazed!

Skate Ministry

Serious JuJu Skateworks

Tonight the kids are looking forward to going to skate ministry. They have been grounded and unable to go for a while now. So they have been looking forward to tonight for a long time. It is really cool seeing the more experienced kids teaching the new skaters techniques and tricks. It is really cool to see Erin giving a lesson from the bible and the kids soaking what he says up. Nothing like kids being interested in God. I am looking forward to tonight it should be a lot of fun!

My Birthday

One of the very last pictures of my mom.

I’m not too fond of my birthday as much as I used to be. I used to love the birthday cake and ice cream that sat surrounded by friends and family, when I was younger. This day was one I looked forward to and now it is a day that brings good memories as well as sadness. My birthday hasn’t ever been the same since my mother passed away. She made my birthday a very special event. Even more so then maybe most would. She lost her first two children shortly after giving birth to them. So having my siblings and I were a complete blessing to her. She cherished each and every one of us because she wasn’t medically speaking supposed to ever have us.

Spiritually speaking God gave her three children that meant the world to her. So birthdays were always a very special day of celebration in the Harvey family. I remember the last birthday I shared with my mother. She was in the ICU wavering between life and death. She was on a high dose of Chemotherapy for a minor case of cancer. The Chemo along with all the years of diabetes really did a number on her heart. Her white blood cell count was almost 0 meaning any type of bacteria or virus would kill her.

We had to wear breathing masks and gloves to visit with her. While lying in her hospital bed she stated that she felt bad she hadn’t planned my birthday and needed to do something for me. That was the hardest birthdays I’ve ever had. Little did I know that would be the last birthday I’d have with my mom alive. She had two kidney transplants and survived breast cancer, and let alone severe diabetes from the age of 5. She wasn’t supposed to live past child hood. We thought she was going to beat a not so serious case of skin cancer.

We were wrong and she passed away September 8th, 2002 that was little over two weeks past my birthday. So every year my birthday passes by with the memory of the passing of my mother. She once told me that if I have the faith of a mustard seed I can move mountains. She believed it because she lived in faith and moved many mountains. She was quoting the bible
Mathew 17:20
“You didn’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I assure you, even if you had faith as small as a mustard seed you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”

I had no idea she was quoting the bible when I was younger. She quoted that often and even had a necklace she wore all the time that contained a mustard seed. Her grandmother quoted that verse and gave her the mustard seed necklace shortly after her first baby passed away. My mom moved many mountains in her life and her life is a testimony of what God can and will do in a believer’s life. Sure she wasn’t perfect but no one ever is. Not even David the king chosen by God to rule over Israel. Or any one of Jesus Christ apostles! Through our weakness comes strength from God.

Hebrews 11:32 – 35

32 Well, how much more do I need to say? It would take too long to recount the stories of the faith of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and all the prophets. 33 By faith these people overthrew kingdoms, ruled with justice, and received what God had promised them. They shut the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the flames of fire, and escaped death by the edge of the sword. Their weakness was turned to strength. They became strong in battle and put whole armies to flight. 35 Women received their loved ones back again from death.

She is living proof that faith the size of a mustard seed can and will move any mountain in your way. Through your weakness Gods glory will be seen. Because of here weak health as a child she was not to live to become an adult or even have children. Through faith in God she was blessed in all that was said to be impossible. Here life was a full one full of Joy, sorrow, and hardship. She may have not been up front with her faith in God with Strangers or even my siblings

Yet she taught me about God and faith, because she lived by it to the best of her ability. I still have the necklace with the mustard seed stored away. I take it out when I miss her and think of her often. I just wish my brother and sister got to know that side of mom. Faith was something her and I shared together. I miss our talks about God, but I know each birthday I have draws me closer to her, where she waits most likely in a beautiful heavenly garden for my arrival.

I hope that maybe one day my brother will find faith and will be able to join her again, where we can all be free from the troubles of this world. Where we can enjoy each other completely and be in the presence of our God. I can’t wait for that day. In Jesus Christ we are all made new. If you haven’t trusted anyone in life, please trust in Jesus. In Jesus you find hope and strength not found by any worldly means. In faith you find peace, endurance, and promise of eternity in happiness shared by all who have gone before you.

This is my birthday wish. I wish that those who read this and haven’t received Christ as their savior. That they do so with all their hearts and mind so they may share in the hope and strength that God provides those who believe in Christ’s death and resurrection, and that in that our sins are erased and we are made new. So, that we may one day share in an eternal heaven. Where, sadness sickness and death are no more. I hope you do this not for me but for yourself.

Your life will be transformed and the lack of security you may find holding you in fear will be lifted from your life. You will find a fortress that can withstand anything that comes at you in life. You won’t know until you give yourself completely to the Lord. I hope you make that choice tonight.

Google Earth!

What can I say! It has to be one of the coolest things ever invented! Not only can you view the entire earth from satellite images. You can zoom in and get a 3d look at any area on Earth. From mountains to buildings you can virtually see everything in 3d. This is my addiction now. I can go to the mountain peaks I have climbed and add pictures I took to that location as a way point. Not only that but I can take that picture and line in up with the geographic background, zoom out to outer space and zoom back down to view my picture that lines up with the virtual Earth in Google Earth. Above is a picture of my buddy Seth taking a picture of our buddy Ryan on our Great Northern Mt. climbing experience. As you can see I lined the picture up as best as I could with the Virtual world created by Google Earth. Another cool feature is the flight simulator that you can use to fly from any location you desire. This truly is the next generation of mapping our world. Here is a brief video on how cool Google Earth is.

It truly is amazing and very accurate when it comes to the virtual 3d mapping. You can download Google Earth @ www.earth.google.com you have to check it out!

Today at work I heard a thundering pounding outside my receiving door. I knew it was a helicopter but it was louder then the usual 2 seater that usually hover out back. To my surprise it was a huge orange helicopter equipped with a crane. I think it must have been used for the fires. This is the picture I took of it hovering. It must have stayed right there for about 3 minutes. Now thinking back I wish I would have taken video of it!

Update

I couldn't help but make a little bit of a personal touch on my header. So I took the liberty to do so and I must say it worked out pretty good!

Layout Change

I got tired of my custom layout and went with a default one for simplicity. It takes a while to tweak custom layouts and I really don't want to spend the time doing that. So I'll just stick with this one for a while until I get bored of it. I also decided to prune some things off of my blog. Sometimes too much is too much. The simpler things are the better.

I got my wedding ring re sized finally! It has been far too long that I went without wearing it. It seems as men we tend to loose hair where we do want it and gain hair where we don't want it. We also tend to gain little Buddha bellies and fat fingers. Due to fat finger syndrome I haven't been able to wear my wedding ring for months! At Church we are studying the Song Of Solomon. It is all about dating leading up to marriage and everything in between and after. I have felt naked without my wedding ring and rightly so. Learning from scripture how special a husband and wife relationship is in Gods eye's make me feel even more naked then before.

I know a ring is a material thing yet is symbolizes a covenant between God, my wife and myself. My promise that I will do my best to be the best husband I can be. Sometimes it is hard to do that but it is well worth the work you put into it. I have been so blessed to be a husband and a father. I would be far from the man I am today if it weren't for my wife and kids. God has blessed me and shown me such love in giving me my family.

Truly Blessed

I have not only found comfort in Jesus but also those who love God as much as I do. I can be myself around them without being judged. I can open up to them and not feel ashamed if I choke up or tear up. They support me when I need it, and I am able to do the same in return. It is nice for a change to be given the advice rather then the one giving it. I have learned so much over the last year and have so much more to learn. I know with friends like those I have made. I will always have a shoulder to lean on or someone to set me straight if I get off course.

A Perfect Example

If you read my last post. I wrote about how there is a biblical message that we can learn through our experiences in life. The only way to get a full understanding to where we can apply it to our lives is to be reading the bible regularly. Today I was presented with a perfect example of that to which I put to use for my kids.

As I was going over notes that I took last night at Church I came across this passage in Romans.

Romans 12:17-21

17 Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. 18 Do your part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible.19 Dear friends, never avenge yourselves. Leave that to God. For it is written,“I will take vengeance;I will repay those who deserve it,”*says the Lord.20 Instead, do what the Scriptures say:“If your enemies are hungry, feed them.If they are thirsty, give them something to drink, and they will be ashamed of what they have done to you.”*21 Don’t let evil get the best of you, but conquer evil by doing good.

Just as I got done reading this my son ran into the house and complained of a neighbor who kicked my son in the knee and smack another child in the face. This child who did these things is not liked among the children of the neighborhood. He is always picking on other kids or hurting them in some way. So with the above passage from Romans in mind. I let the kids know that it is better to treat him with kindness then to throw insults or even punches back at him even if you feel he deserves it.

So tonight the kids and I are going to look into Romans 12 and do a study on it while what happened today is still fresh in their minds. This way they can grasp a better understanding on this biblical principal and apply it to their lives.

If I weren't reading the bible I would have missed out on how God would have me handle this situation. I might have told my sons to go beat the kid up. That of course would have been the wrong choice that could have lead to multiple negative out comes. In applying biblical principal to the situation the situation ends with a sore knee without a lawsuit or escalation of the situation. All I have left to say is....

Isn't God amazing?

Life Message

I found in every situation in life there is a message. Every fall and every victory there is a message. That message is from God showing you biblical principles through your life experiences. You may not be doing exactly what God wants you to do but you end up learning a biblical principle or a multitude of bible principles none the less. Those principles are easily over looked if you are in the wrong mindset. If you aren't in the bible reading it you tend to let what you were supposed to learn in your experience/experiences fall by the wayside. This giving you no further understanding so that you continue to make bad choices that worsen your quality of life.

This happens due to oversight on our part. We over look God so we miss his message in our everyday life. How he wants us to live our life is his will. Our will seems to dampen our ears to his voice. We need to really get with him if we are who we claim to be. That is those who claim to be Christian yet don't ever read the bible. How can we claim to be Christian if we don't listen to what God has written in the bible. If we can't read and listen to that. How can we see what he wants to happen in our lives? Let me tell you that what he wants is far greater then what we have ever wanted.

Looking back at myself I think. How prideful I was to say I didn't have time to read the bible. I was too cool to follow God. I was too concerned about my HD T.V. and all the cool toys I should have. I'll do it tomorrow cause right now God just isn't on the agenda. I'll get to it later when I feel like it. I pray to God that is enough. I went to Church before and I believe in Jesus Christ. How can we say we believe in Christ yet we do not follow his directions. They are all written out so that even children can understand them. Sometimes I find Children understand them better then adults at times.

My life has been far better following Gods instructions rather then setting them off to the side. I've seen through many filters when it comes to world view. I am here to tell you that the only world view that has actually changed my life is the one through which Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins. Through Grace we are saved. Through that Grace we are inspired to do the will of God however, whenever, and whatever we are called to do. Have you listened lately? Have you opened your bible and at least tried to apply it to your lives?

I hope you do at least try. We all have that void within us. The one that seems can never be filled. I have that no longer. The one piece of the puzzle of me was filled with the grace that was given to me on the cross. I am completely comfortable in any situation because God is with me always. I ask you who are struggling in life to start reading the bible. Apply what you learn in it to your life. I guarantee you will see change in you and your life for the better.

Life is shorter then we think. Each minute is one step closer to that last moment that we are alive. We tend to forget that we may die tomorrow in a split second. Don't put off God any longer and strive to let him work in your life. It will be the best decision you will ever make!

I was inspired to write this tonight for some reason. I don't know why but it was on my heart. Being this is my blog. I treat it much like a diary and I realize it is public. What I write here comes from my heart. I feel no shame in sharing how I feel with others. You can agree or disagree with what I say. I just speak of what I know is true.

My next adventure!

I will be climbing another peak in Glacier Park this Tuesday. I am excited and terrified at the same time. I remember the last peak I climbed and it about killed me. However I have been doing some conditioning playing my Wii (LOL) so I am good to go!!! I am told the hike is easier then the last so I know I can make it without a doubt. I love Montana and all the outdoor activities you can do here. Tonight we are heading out to the walk of the Cedars with our Church to have a concert of worship music and then fellowship friends on the trail. I am looking forward to both hikes very much!

Phil Wickham Singalong album free!!!

This is one of those you can't pass up things. Phil Wickham is an amazing artist who writes the most beautiful music about God. He is by far my favorite Christian music artists. His voice is phenomenal and his lyrics are amazing. His guitar work is very decent and I wish I had half the talent he has. Anyway you can get his new album for free if you sign up for his news letter. You have to download this it is well worth it. Sign up here http://philwickham.com/singalong/ to sign up for the news letter. You'll get a confirmation email that will give you a link to follow to download the album. I am listening to it right now and True Love is amazing!!!

We just got a Wii!

This message was sent using the Picture and Video Messaging service from Verizon Wireless!

The wife and I decided to trade one of our Xbox 360's in for a Nintendo Wii. The Wii has a better selection of kid friendly games and you can get all the old Mario games for it!!! My step mother would love the Wii. She calls the Mario games Hipity Hop???

Instead of saying I want to play Super Mario brothers she says.....I want to play Hipity Hop! It would be very entertaining to watch her play now with the new wireless controllers that you have to wave around in order to move your character. Have you ever watched someone play a video game and move as if their personal movement would actually help your character in the video game move? She used to bounce on the couch when she wanted Mario to jump! Now with the Wii controllers it might actually help her. We used to laugh when she'd dramatically bounce on the couch to jump higher.

Well I am going to go check the Wii out and see how hard it is to control things with the crazy controllers!

If you like hot sauce you'll love Franks. You'll even put it on your Wheaties!

I am soooo bored!!!!

Well I've cooked dinner, Horsed around with and got all the kids to take showers. Played guitar and listen to Pastor Bill Ritchie and Greg Laurie. I played battlefield and surfed the internet. I've prayed and thought deeply about many things. I've bloged once already and I am blogging again now. My mind never stops thinking and I have no one to talk with about deep things. I called my brother but we a philosophically on opposite sides of the spectrum. I need a good conversation with a fellow Christian that loves to talk about God as much as I do.

Have you ever met someone who loves to talk about a certain subject? Maybe it is gardening or comic books. My topics of interest are religion and God. If I'm not talking about it I'm thinking about it. There is never a moment I don't think about God except maybe when I am asleep. Am I completly weird or are there others out there that do the same thing? I am going crazy with my wife gone! I am ready to call it a night.

2nd night

Well tonight is the second night that Stacey has been working evenings. I am missing her already but I am finding ways to pre-occupy my time. We got rid of T.V. so that leaves reading, spending time with the kids, and playing guitar. After dinner last night I broke out the guitar and played from 8PM to about 11:30 PM. I forgot how much I loved playing music. I just with I could sing and strum at the same time. That comes with practice and it looks like I'll have a lot of time for that. I started writing a song that I'll probably never finish. I usually get side track and lay my guitar down for months at a time. Life seems to pull in all sorts of directions when you have a family to provide and care for. Well that is the latest in my life. Nothing too exciting going on right at the moment. Chat at you all later!

Barbeque For Me And You....Barbeque!!!!

I invited my brother over for some BBQ'd steaks tonight. I seasoned and marinated them for 24 hours so they should be pretty tasty! I am sure they are going to turn out awesome!!! I wan't one right now!!! I hope you all had a great weekend. Also if you need the fam and I to pray for you or with you just let me know and we'd be more then happy to. There is something really special praying for others. To see those prayers answered is the greatest thing to see. Well I'm going to stare at the raw steaks and imagine they are grilling on the barbeque!

Long Lost Friend

Yesterday I recieved an email via myspace from a good friend of mine that I've know since junior high. Damon wrote to me giving me an update on how his life was going. He recently became a registered nurse and is closing on his first house. I was so happy to hear that his life is going well. He had a rough up bringing and he deserves all the happiness he has now. He has worked hard for it and I am really proud of him. Back in school it used to be just three of us who bounced in between clicks. We had friends in every click and fit into all of them somehow. We were cool enough for the preps yet dorky enough to hang with the comicon crew. Yet we also hung with the stoners and the cowboys.

I don't know how you would classify the click that I belonged to other then the three amigos! Our click consited of Myself,Chris, and Damon. We all got eachother through many trials and also dove head first into trouble together. Yet somehow we all pulled out of it and made it to where we all are today. It is strange to look back and see how easy it would have been to die or take another route in life. I am thankful that we were led out of trouble and into a path that was good for all of us.

We all keep in touch every so often. We all have our shares of troubles. I know that if we all lived in the same state we would still hang out and be brothers like we were in school. In a way I wish that were the case because I miss them greatly. So Chris and Damon if you read this! I love you guys!!!

The fastest way to a womans heart!

One pint of Haagen-daaz ice cream does the trick! Fellas if your in trouble flowers are good but Haagen-daaz is better! Haagen-daaz,flowers and a card will guarentee to put a smile on a womans face. I wasn't introuble yesturday when I bought Stacey a pint of Haagen-daaz but I could immediatly sense a change in mood. I'm not saying she was in a bad mood by any means. However she was very happy after eating her ice cream.

So fellas if you ever want to woo your lovely wife or girlfriend. Make sure to put Haagen-daaz in the equation! It is 100% fool proof unless your lady is lactose intollerant. Then you might want to pick up some of those lactose intollerant pills to go with the ice cream.
