Crazy Night

Tonight we have a ton of kids in our house. It has been a loud night to say the least. Luckily we have some pretty well mannered guests. The house is bursting at the seams and the decibel level is tremendous. Between laughing, screaming, and video game sound effects, I think my mental state has remained sane. However my head is pounding and I am ready for quite time. They have all got into bed for the night and there is peace and quite. Before they called it a night we all said prayers and it was awesome! A house full of prayerful kids is enough to warm any one's heart!

Howdy

Hey all......

I haven't been blogging lately so I figured I'd do so to get you caught up on what has been going on. I have been really busy lately with being sick all winter. The family just seems to be catching one bug after another. We pass it on to each other because we love to share even when it is a cold. We've tried everything to keep from getting sick but it seems nothing we do works. Recently Stacey found she was exposed to black mold at work and thinks that may be why we keep getting sick. So we shall see what happens when that gets taken care of.

Stacey and I have been helping out with our Church junior high ministry and have been loving it. We are now reading Crazy Love by Francis Chan and it is AWESOME! I highly recommend it to everyone. We went sledding the other day just so we could hang with the kids. It was a lot of fun and a great way to have fun with the kids in the ministry. On the side I have been doing game preview and reviews for XLN. It is great to get free video games but sometimes painful to do all the research it requires to write a review.

I am looking forward to summer and all the hiking that awaits me there. I have been doing some hiking this winter with friends and also enjoying it with those who love God as much as I do. There is nothing like getting out into the Montana wilderness and talking about God and our walk with him. Seeing Gods creation and how beautiful it is can be humbling and inspirational at the same time. Speaking of which you have to check out the awe factor video on www.crazylovebook.com it puts in perspective how minute we humans are in the known universe. It shows how great the creator of all things truly is!

Into The Wild Revised

Well we missed the turn off for Two Medicine lake and had to revise our day of snowshoeing. We headed a bit further down the road and hit Many Glacier. We drove up to the dam and shooed in about 6 miles in. It was a fun trip and I was dead tired when I got home. I was also a little burnt to say the least. Two weeks from now the plan is to summit Mt. Blain. That should be fun and I need to get my butt on my elliptical so I can make it to the top.

Into The Wild Part 1

It is now 5:20 AM and I just got my gear together for our trip to Two Medicine Lake. I am working on a cup of coffee and double checking that I have all I need for the hike today. I am tired but excited to get going. I can't wait to get out there to experience this next adventure with friends. I know when I return I am going to be very tired and sore. However there is a reward awaiting me when I return. We just bought a couch that the whole family can cuddle on. So I am excited that I will be able to do that tonight when I return home. Well I have to finish up so I can be at the rally point on time. Have a great week everyone!

Into The Wild Prologue

Above is a snapshot from Google Earth and it is the location of my next outdoor adventure. According to my buddy Seth we will be hiking quite a ways in to get to Two Medicine Lake. Depending on how much snow there is it could be from 6 - 10 miles in. So needless to say we will need snow shoes or cross country skis to access the lake. I rented some snow shoes tonight but wish I had a pair of skis because I believe they may be more enjoyable then snow shoes. At any rate I am super stoked to get out and enjoy this beautiful place God has created.

I will be taking a ton of pictures while out there so I will post them when I get back. It is always fun to go hang with buddies and enjoy nature and talk about God at the same time. It will be nice to spend time with them all. These outing have been great bonding experiences and I wouldn't trade that for all the video gaming in the world. There is nothing like seeing the majestic views here in Montana. All the hard work and sweat it takes to get there is well worth it in the end. I guess you could apply that in your spiritual walk as well.

All the struggles you go through the hills that seem too steep to conquer. Are all manageable if you have faith and the spiritual endurance to do it. God Provides us the strength and stamina to get through all that stands before us. Once you reach that destination that seems so far away and too beautiful to imagine. You'll look back and say.....That wasn't too bad was it? All that struggle was well worth it and I am so glad I didn't give up and turn back.
