Wakie wakie eggs and baky.

Recently I have been having some fun waking the kids up in the morning. It all started when they decided that they would wait until the 3rd or 4Th time I called their names to get out of bed. I figured I'd see if my tone of voice would change their reaction time of responding to my call to rise and shine. I started with the typical parent calling to their kids to get out of bed tone.

That tone really didn't work, and I found I had to say each name 5 times in a row to actually get some sort of groan from any of them. Each day I would try a different tone in my voice that ranged from monotone to very annoying. All of them worked about the same. However I found the secret to getting your kids out of bed instantly this morning. When I saw the response to the you overslept for Christmas morning tone. I was floored that it actually worked!

The positive excitement in my voice really got them moving without much hesitation. You had to be there to hear the response I received from each of the kids. It made me laugh till I had tears in my eyes. They were downstairs before I could blink an eye. So if you have trouble getting your kids or even your husbands out of bed in the morning. Just get into character and act like you are waking them up because they overslept during Christmas morning. I guarantee it will work great!

Tom Clancy's Hawx!

I downloaded a demo version of the latest Tom Clancy game. Usually Tom Clancy games are first person tactical shooter games, such as the Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon franchises. However recently Ubisoft and Tom Clancy have been directing the games in other game types. The latest of those is Tom Clancy's Hawx. This is a flight sim that is not only action pact but also visually stimulating. The graphics are top notch and so are the controls are not like most console flight sims with the arcade feel. However they aren't that technical eighther. It is easy and realistic at the same time. I am quite impressed with the game and can't wait for the release!

Something that really stood out to me during game play with a friend. Was that he was skimming the surface of the water with his jet leaving a wake from the air pressure pushing down on the water, way cool!!!! Tom Clancy games are great in every aspect in my opinion. One of those aspects is the in game music. Tom Clancy games has theatrical score like music. I am a big movie score type of guy and music is just as important as game play to me. Tom Salta composed the music for Tom Clancy's Hawx and it is great from what I have heard of it. He has a Hans Zimmer style of writing music that fits perfect for the Tom Clancy games.

He is an awesome musician that has worked in the music industry for years and just recently moved over to the video game music industry. When I interviewed him on the Ghost Recon Advanced War fighter 2 Score he stated that after playing Halo and Rainbow Six he decided to start composing music for video games. I am glad he did because seriously I could buy the music and listen to it over and over again.

Hawx will be released sometime in March so I will have to wait a while before I get to play the full version. So until then it is the same level over and over again.

I am speechless....Just watch.

I can't even begin to formulate words for this, so you'll just have to watch and see for yourself.

If that doesn't show up for you. You can view it here...

Death By Electricution!

The other day at work we had a problem with our industrial size trash compactor. Since I am in receiving it is my duty to make sure all is functioning in the back room area. That includes the trash compactor. Sometimes when it is brought back from the dump. The driver is too lazy to plug it back in so I have to go out and do it for him. This is what I thought had happened being that there was no juice pumping into it so we could start compacting garbage.

I went out side and walked in between the back of the store and the compactor. I looked down and realized my shoes were getting wet and that I was standing in two inches of water due to snow melt. I looked at the 3 inch thick 480 electrical chord and saw that it was plugged into the compactor like it should be. The next step was to check out the power switch on the side of the building. It looks like a switch to an electric chair and is probably the same type they use in capitol punishment.

I realized that the safety switch had been triggered and I needed to reset it. I flipped the Green Mile type electric switch to the off position and reset the safety. Then I proceeded to flip the huge handled switch to the on position. I figured that would the trick and went inside to test it out. Nothing happened so I got my socks all soggy for no reason. We called our store maintenance guy in to look into it further. What he found in the breaker room were 3 blown fuses.

You see what happened is the 480 chord had wires that were exposed to the puddle I was standing in. That in turn tripped the safety switch off on the Green Mile like power switch and blew the circuits in the breaker box. The scary thing is if those circuits would not have blown. I would have reset the safety switch and thrown the power switch to the on position instantly killing me. I would be fried like a chicken nugget! God saved me once again from another horrible death at work. I am thankful I am still here for my family and to write this blog. I am also thankful I am well enough to go to church tonight!

Head Of The Household

Tonight while snuggling my son Jacob. As we sat and snuggled I said that I was about to go to bed. Jacob asked if he had to go to bed to? I decided I would have a little fun with him and knowing my wife was an ear shot away. I told him that when I go to bed everyone goes to bed. Then I asked him if he knew why that was. He couldn't come up with an answer and I told him it was because I was the head of the household. Stacey hearing this asked him to confirm that she was the head of the household by asking him who he thought was head of the household.

I told him he better answer that very carefully if he knew what was good for him and if he wanted a secure future. He giggled as Stacey and I kept prodding him to state one of us was head of the household. After about 3 minutes I asked him one last time......So Jake who is the head of the household? He responded with, Jesus Christ is the head of the household. I told him that he was right. I tell you what when I heard that it made my day! The little guy gets it and that makes me very happy!

Morning study.

The Stoning of Stephen

I am currently reading the Book of Acts during my morning time in the Word. I have never really appreciated the book as much as I should have in my past. Just knowing it was written by Luke as a means of getting him out of Jail sheds new light on it for me. Acts is essentially Paul's testimony. He was present and most likely participated in the stoning of Stephen the first Church martyr. He also sought out to torture and kill Christians to put an end to the Christian movement. However God had other plans that put Paul as the leading person that would bring the Gentiles to know the life story of Christ.

Paul's work went from head thug seeking to destroy Christianity to the Billy Graham of his day. What an amazing book Acts is. I spent most of the day just thinking about how drastically God can change a mans heart. Paul started out in a position of judgement against Christians to a place where he himself was being judged for being a Christian and eventually he was martyred for it. I am going to read it over again tomorrow morning because it is such an inspiration to me. I hope you all have taken the time to read the book of Acts.

What is new?

The most excitement in between being sick this winter is the fact that I've played too much Xbox in my spare time. The other is hanging out with friends in the Montana wilderness. Last Monday we went way out in the North Fork 7 miles from the Canadian border. My friend has a Cabin way out in no mans land and we took advantage of that. We brought sleds and hot dogs and all you'd need to have a guys day out in the wilderness.
On our way up to the middle of no where....my friend Garren decided to get squirly and start fishtailing his truck down an icy road and ended up in a snow bank. No more then a second after he mentioned we might get stuck we slammed into a snow bank. Seth had to break out a tow strap and shovels to free Garrens truck from the snow bank. Danger, wilderness and man sweat! You can't get manlier then that! Unless of course you end up wrestling a grizzly bear for right of passage!

We ate hot dogs till and jerky until we were green, and the decided to tackle massive hillsides with orange toboggans! It was awesome and I can't wait till our next outing. There is nothing like sharing experiences like these with people who love God and love talking about him so openly. It is a blessing and a bonding experience that is priceless. I believe this summer is going to be full of awesome fellowship in the Montana wilderness.

Trying To Call Dad.

For the last couple of weeks I have been playing phone tag with my dad. We keep missing each other. I must say I have found someone who is as equally hard to get a hold of as myself. We have made it 3 weeks thus far and a am willing to start a wager that it will be 5 before one of us gets lucky enough to break through and end the vicious game of phone tag. I guess one of us could just shoot an email? I think we both are having too much fun seeing who is going to get a hold of the other first.

Update

It has been a while since I last blogged so I figured I'd update you all on what is going on. Other then playing a ton of Call Of Duty 5. I started a study on the book of Luke to go over with the family. In my study I learned things I never knew before. Did you know Luke was written by Luke in the year 60 A.D. and that the book of Acts was written to go along with the book of Luke? Scholars believe that both books were written as legal documents to defend Paul during his trial.

Luke was sent out to interview eye witnesses who saw the miracles of Jesus Christ. So much like a historian interviewing world war 2 veterans about what they saw during the war. Luke interviewed people who saw the Messiah and what happened first hand and took detailed notes on their first hand accounts of Jesus Christ. I have enjoyed reading up on our family study on Luke. I am excited to teach the kids things I wish I would have learned a long time ago.

Tonight we are hanging out watching Jericho and vegging out on the couch. Cabin fever is setting in so tomorrow I will be heading out in the woods with a bunch of guys from Church. We are going to hang out around a fire cook hot dogs and just enjoy fellowship with each other. One thing about living here in Montana, you never run out of outdoor activities. It is hard during the winter month to remain sain when you have 5 personalities all stuck indoors so tomorrow will be a nice change. I need to find a way to break my wife away for some free time for her. I think the ladies need some time with each other as well.

Oh also today was our first day at the Active Junior High ministry at Church. It was really cool and I am very excited to see God work in this ministry. Junior High is always a confusing time when it comes to life. Hormones go crazy and it seems like the world you knew as a kid has been flipped upside down at times. I am so excited to be able to have the opportunity to be part of a ministry that will help them through that part of their lives. Well dinner is done and I am starving......and rambling on. Have a good night all, and a good week!

Two nights planned at once!

Last night Stace and I were planning on doing the Active Student ministry for the first time last night. However I totally spaced that my sister was going to be in town this weekend. So we postponed Active until next week to spend time with my sister and her family. We ended up heading out to hear Betty and The Boy open for The Hollow. Betty and Josh performed a new amazing song titled Pennies. It was their first time playing it in front of people and I was blown away not only by the lyrics but the music. It is now my favorite song that they do.

I am hoping they put that song on their new CD they will be producing here soon. With that said we will be watching the Super Bowl here at our place with family and tons of food! I love food and football. I just wish I had an HD signal to watch the Super Bowl in HD. Maybe Xbox will be streaming it in HD! Wouldn't that be sweet! I hope you all have an safe and fun Super Bowl Sunday. If you drink be sure not to drive!
