When we sin as Christians we tend to dive into sin head first. Meaning we think about it first. We know that it is wrong and that we shouldn’t do it. However we also know our sins are covered by what Christ did on the cross. We know that this does not make it ok to sin or give us an excuse to sin. Yet we still dive head first into sin as if diving into a pool. Some of us hesitate with apprehension on the edge of the pool, staring down at the water finally deciding to make the leap.
Others don’t waste time and take the plunge without hesitation; with the thought that hey my sin is covered I can do it just this once! Unfortunately when we dive in to the pool of sin we assume we are diving into the deep end where we can swim around in sin for a while without injury. We don’t realize we are actually diving head first into the shallow end and every time we do so we crack our heads at the bottom of the pool risking drowning in sin that ultimately leads to death.
So I submit to you, the next time you are tempted to sin, just think of a pool and that you are about to dive head first into the shallow end. Take pause and pray to have the temptation lifted from you. We may slip every now and then, but we don’t have to slip as often as we do.

I thought that I posted a comment about this epiphany of yours... You come up with some of the most interesting ways to explain some things. I love you!
